Wales win the Four Nations for the first time in twelve years. The
ITF Wales team went to Dublin this year as undoubted
underdogs for the Four Nations tournament but surprised
everyone with a great display and show of effort to win
the trophy for Wales for the first time in twelve years.
After a three way draw in the pattern event the teams
entered the sparring event and it was here that Wales
performed best and put in brilliant displays to beat
both Ireland and England and easily win this event, in
the final event of team power despite England winning it
a draw with Ireland cemented the win for Wales and
Master John Taylor VII (coach) accepted the trophy on
behalf of the team. Dean Matthews IV (Captain), Chris
Black II, Richard Taylor II, Wayne Brookes I, Dave Lund
I and Stuart Wordingham I. the whole of the ITF offer
them congratulations for a tremendous achievement. |
